minimalistic character designs

I doodled a very basic character shape in class and thought it might be a good idea to develop characters based on just shapes, so that I know, whether they'll be recognizable.
They act kinda like sticky notes: containing only the basic idea, without a fixed design, so that I can still change that without having the feeling that I stray from my original idea.
Although they are becoming more and more detailed lately.
